Akira Hīragi is a supporting character in the yuri series Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid. The benevolent Governor of Mermaid, and the founder of Wärter (German for "keeper(s)"), the island's peace-keeping force. While believed by everyone on the island to be the only male resident on Mermaid, she is actually a woman asked by her mother to act like a man in order to stay safe.
She had a girlfriend even before the Armed Virus outbreak, though she was never seen onscreen.

- Chatting while sleeping with next to Mamori on one mattress, she inspired her to not lose hope of quitting Mermaid Island one day, and to continue to believe, then held her hand smiling before sleep.
- After she motivated Mirei and Mamori to get ready to enter through the emergency escape which is a cave goes right under the building where the terrorists were holed up in, she was so shy to view them Drive passionately.
- Leaving with no choice but to to enter the needed Drive by kissing Mamori, she succeeded in doing so and beat the terrorists who seized the building they were locked in.

- The special OVA episode 4, Sitting alone on her bed one night, she wondered if the day she can reunite with the, her one and only partner, would come, abandoning herself to her beloved's embrace once again.
- Her body as she put some powder on became sensitive because she was thinking about her partner.
- No matter what she did to forget her partner, her body still remembers its penetration, her tongue, her sighs, though she decided to lock all of that away due to the Gouverneur's duty to guide and encourage everyone in Mermaid Island.
