Michiru Kaiō / Sailor Neptune is a supporting character in the series Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. She is caring, almost always offering a smile or laugh to a situation. While polite and calm to a fault, she is not the most social person, but when she does become close with someone it is because she truly wants to. Elegant, sophisticated, though sometimes cold, she can use her talisman to predict events of a close future.

- She is the lover of Haruka Tenou. She's romantically linked with Haruka Tenou. Although the first seasons of the anime was not graphic, there were hints given (especially during the Stars season and Sailor Moon Crystal III) that Michiru and Haruka had a physical relationship.
- She lives with Haruka in the same house, in it she's showing to be touchy-feely with her.
- The first ending of Sailor Moon Crystal III features her love relationship with Sailor Uranus, clarifying that she have been led by romantic attraction to Haruka.
- For some reason, Her jealousy of Haruka getting close to Usagi by kissing her secretly "only for fun" as it noted by her is not showing clearly until Haruka discovered while embracing her in their house the lonely expression she wears, and her slightly sad eyes Haruka could only discover, due for her flirting with Usagi.
