Haruka Tenō

Haruka Tenou is a supporting character in the series Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. The civilian identity of Sailor Uranus and one of the Outer Sailor Guardians responsible for protecting the Solar System from outside threats. As the Sailor Guardian of the Heavens, Haruka possesses abilities that affect the very air and winds around her. By feeling an uneasy breeze, she can defect supernatural activity and can even understand the wind itself. These abilities are heightened while in her Uranus persona. She's 180 cm tall. Her birthday is on January 27.

Yuri Feats[]

  • The question "Are Uranus and Neptune really lovers, and if so why did you make them gay?" came from a young female fan who wanted a clear answer. Naoko-san's answer was that, "YES, they were a couple!".
  • She is the lover of Michiru Kaiō / Sailor Neptune. She's romantically linked with her. Although the first seasons of the anime were not graphic, there were hints given (especially during the Stars season and Sailor Moon Crystal III) that Michiru and Haruka had a physical relationship.
  • Loves teasing and flirting with Usagi Tsukino, she even kissed her.
  • She started living together with Michiru and Setsuna in the same house to raise Hotaru as a daughter, while only Haruka and Michiru are a canon couple and are touchy-feely with each other, all three had rings on their fingers.
    • Hotaru calls Michiru and Setsuna mama and Haruka papa.
  • Her and Michiru flirt with each other almost all the time.
  • The first ending of Sailor Moon Crystal III features her love relationship with Sailor Neptune, clarifying that she have been led by romantic attraction to Michiru.
  • She dislikes popular men.

  • HaruMichi are often considered the model yuri couple among manga artists, and many yuri couples or pairings were inspired by them.
  • When Megumi Ogata (Haruka’s voice actress) asked Kunihiko Ikuhara (90's anime director) how she was supposed to portray Haruka and Michiru’s relationship, she was told to act as if they were a married couple.
